Addie Wilensky's Tie Dye Mitzvah

Raise Awareness and Provide Hope

"Hello, my name is Addie Wilensky. I am 12 years old and live in Southern California. I am starting a tie-dye fundraiser for an organization that supports Ocular Melanoma research, advocacy, and awareness and to provide education and support to patients and their families.

The Ocular Melanoma Foundation does important work and I have chosen to do this because, sadly, my Grandma Rochelle just passed away in August 2020 from Ocular Melanoma. It is a very rare eye cancer which has no cure to date.  This will be my Bat Mitzvah Project. I am preparing for my Bat Mitzvah in late 2021 when I will become a Jewish adult woman.

One part of the process is to create a project that helps the community or does something good, which is a "Mitzvah." I picked helping those with Ocular Melanoma because it touches someone I love, as well as benefit others around the world.
